FOX Confirms Nimoy Will Appear on Fringe – Plays Coy on the Details
It’s no secret that Leonard Nimoy was being courted to appear on FOX’s Fringe, the scoop slipped into the mainstream in early April ascending from ‘rumored to be negotiating’ to ‘he’s already filming’ within mere days. Nimoy will appear as the pivotal William Bell, Walter’s (John Noble) old lab partner. FOX went official with the casting earlier this week, releasing this statement on Nimoy’s involvement:
Emmy Award nominee and sci-fi icon Leonard Nimoy will guest-star on an upcoming episode of FRINGE. Nimoy will appear as pivotal person of interest William Bell as the critically acclaimed series approaches its dramatic and revealing first season finale Tuesday, May 12 (9:01-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
Note how clever FOX’s PR slingers are? Nimoy’s debut is purposely left out of the press release. Of course, we’ll be tuning in each week anyways but clearly FOX is banking on Nimoy-Anticipation to help boost Fringe’s numbers.
