Walter likesIf any of you were worried that Fringe wasn’t going to make it around to year three, The Hollywood Reporter is here to assuage your fears. When taking a look over this year’s endangered shows list, it predicted that Fringe would have a 90% chance of renewal. As you know, I’ve been worried about the show this year due to its middling ratings in the highly competitive Thursday timeslot. The Hollywood Reporter, however, says I have very little to fear.

“Boy, this show took a beating on Thursdays this fall,” the Reporter stated, “yet along with Bones has given Fox a foothold on TV’s most competitive night and recently shown improvement.”

Of course, the network will be primarily be looking at ratings from the show’s April 1 return onwards to decide whether to cancel or not, but if the show keeps with the forward momentum (and it should — “Peter,” is looking to be the greatest episode of the series ever), then we should be on the fast track to seeing a third year of Fringe science.
