2×10: ‘Blight’ on the Other Side

NewtonIf you heard Newton mention the ‘blight’ from over there and thought to yourself, “Hmm, that sounds familiar,” then you have to look no further than the glyph for “August.” What did it translate out to again? Oh, that’s right — BLIGHT.

The fact that we’ve had a glyph on it, as well as an offhand mention of how bad it is, means that the blight on the other side is going to be very important in the coming weeks. In fact, it’s probably the reason why ‘over there’ is trying to come ‘over here.’

This somewhat puts a whole new light on Newton and the rest of the characters who we’ve seen from ‘over there’ thus far. They can’t really be looked at as villains anymore, no more than any other refugees would — except that they’re going to destroy both worlds by staging a giant crossover.

But really, wouldn’t you at least try if there was a blight ‘over here’? Moral quandries, my friends. Let’s hope that they’re properly explored when Fringe returns early next year.
