Andre Royo Cast for S3 Premiere

Fringe has recently been casting for season three. Here’s what TVOvermind had to say about their lastest casting choice:

Three main groups of television fans have seen before, though some of them might not know it. The genre fans probably saw him inHeroes as Stephen Canfield, the man who could create black holes (and eventually killed himself with one). The procedural fans might recognize him from his role on Criminal Minds as a drug-addicted serial killer in one episode. However, most televisionaries will recognize him from his biggest role: playing on . Royo really proved his acting chops as , a drug-addicted police informant struggling to turn his life around. So, guess how excited I was when I learned that he had secured a guest role on .

That’s right, Royo will be appearing in the third season premiere of the acclaimed sci-fi drama, according to Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello, though the  call doesn’t look like the role will be a recurring one. Ausiello described Royo’s role as “Henry, a soulful taxi driver who is unexpectedly forced into a tense situation with Olivia.” Sounds like a one-off role to me, but I would be delighted and surprised to see the man stick around for a few more episodes.

As Ausiello also stated, it seems likely at this point that the Olivia mentioned in the  call above is probably Altlivia, who is currently occupying this universe while our Olivia is being held in captivity by Walternate. Unless Olivia escapes in the season premiere and forces Henry to give her a ride, it seems that Altlivia will be flagging down a cab in this universe. My guess? The entire “tense situation” is based on culture shock from Altlivia’s move from the technologically advanced Over There to the much less so “Over Here.”

’s third season is set to premiere in September.
