joshua-jacksonThis interview is actually from last week, but it still contains some very interesting information on an upcoming episode of “Fringe.”  Beware the spine sucking spoiler beast.

While spending some quality time on the set of Fringe we were able to grab Joshua Jackson’s ear for a few moments (not literally, although I wouldn’t be surprised if that were to happen in an upcoming episode). We chatted about what fans can expect for the rest of the season which returned last night, an update on the grossest moment on set so far and his declining video game aptitude!

UGO: What are you guys shooting today?

Joshua Jackson: Today we are investigating a syphlitic vampire! You don’t know it’s a vampire yet, it’s really a creation of man’s hubris but we’re trying to figure that out, we’re in lab world here today, playing with a man’s exposed spine!

UGO: How’s that going for you?

Joshua: It’s going good, it’s sadly or strangely, or wonderfully very typical for our world…

UGO: At New York Comic Con you were asked about some of the grosser moments on the show, does this top it “hoovering brain spew”?

Joshua: Yea, when he (Walter) was playing with the spinal column yesterday, there were definately a number of stomach turners. It’s weird, the thing is that most of it, you’re on set, it’s a prop and you don’t realize how gross it is until you watch the show, but there’s just a really human response to seeing a bone exposed from someone’s body and being futzed with.

UGO: Your tolerance builds up probably…

Joshua: Yea but every once in a while something jumps out and freaks you out!

UGO: What can we expect to learn about Peter Bishop in the remainder of the season?

Joshua: Truly the remainder of the season we deal much more with Olivia’s backstory and how she came to be a part of this world, we’re led to believe that it’s not by accident that Olivia Dunham was the FBI agent chosen to lead the Fringe division and that’s revealed. Also we come to learn why and what what went on when she was a child. We get much deeper into her backstory. Peter doesn’t really play prominently towards the end of season one but we do come to learn some things about Walter and Peter…
